Maternity Boudoir Near Melbourne – Documenting This Chapter Properly

Maternity boudoir photography near Melbourne tends to sit in a gap that most studios don’t fill well. One end is outdoor golden-hour portraits with a flowing dress. The other is a standard studio portrait. Neither is a boudoir session.

A maternity boudoir session is intimate, private, and specifically about documenting your body during this chapter, not performing a version of pregnancy for an audience. If you’ve been thinking about having images taken during this time but couldn’t find something that felt right, this might be what you were looking for.

What a Maternity Boudoir Session Looks Like

You come to our private studio in central Geelong, about an hour from Melbourne. Sabrina does your makeup when you arrive, then shoots your session over two hours. She directs every single shot, you don’t need to know how to pose or feel particularly photogenic.

We have eight studio sets with different moods. Some maternity clients want something soft and warm. Some want something more stripped back. The session adapts to you.

The reveal appointment with Jake happens 2–3 weeks later, where you see your images and choose what you’d like to take home. Nothing is purchased on shoot day.

What’s Different About Shooting Maternity

Sabrina directs with your comfort as the primary variable throughout the session. Poses that work for pregnant bodies are different, positioning is adjusted shot by shot based on what she sees through the lens. You don’t need to tell her what’s comfortable; she’ll check in and adapt.

When to Book

Most maternity boudoir sessions are shot between 28 and 36 weeks, enough of a bump to tell the story clearly, without being too close to the end for comfort. If you’re unsure about timing, mention it when you enquire and Jake can help you work backwards from your due date.

Book earlier than you think you need to. Sessions fill up, and the last thing you want is to be scrambling at 34 weeks.

Privacy and Safety

Posing assistance sometimes involves minor physical adjustments – moving a hand, adjusting a shoulder. This is always done with verbal direction first, and any physical touch is minimal, appropriate, and can be declined. If you prefer not to be touched for any adjustment, say so at the beginning of your session.

What It Costs

Session fee is $599. Collections start at $899. Most clients invest between $1,799 and $3,999 for a maternity session. Full pricing is in the investment guide Jake sends before your call. [Pricing overview: /boudoir-photography-prices-melbourne/]
