You’re not just booking a photoshoot. You’re considering something that requires you to show up, be seen, and trust that what comes back will feel like you, not some polished version of you that’s hard to recognise.
So before you decide, you want to know: does this actually work? Or is “boudoir changed my life” just something studios say?
Here’s our honest answer, and then we’ll let one of our clients answer it in her own words, because frankly she says it better than we can.

Yes, but with an important condition.
A boudoir session can genuinely shift how a woman sees herself. We’ve watched it happen hundreds of times. Women who arrived nervous, self-critical, already apologising for their body before we’d even picked up the camera, and who left two hours later surprised by their own reflection.
But the photos alone aren’t what does it. A technically perfect set of images delivered by someone who made you feel rushed, judged, or uncomfortable won’t change anything. The experience is at least half of it.
What actually creates that shift is being in a space where the whole session is built around making you feel safe, guided, and celebrated, and then seeing the evidence of that in your images afterwards. The photos become proof of something you experienced first.
That’s what we try to build every single session. Not a performance. Not a fantasy version of you. Just you, seen well.
We’re not psychologists, and we won’t overclaim. But here’s what we consistently observe:
Women who struggle most with self-image often have the most powerful reactions at their reveal. Not because the photos are flattering in a generic way, but because they’ve never seen themselves photographed with real care and intention before. The disconnect between how they’d imagined they’d look and how they actually appear is almost always a good surprise.
Many of our clients tell us the session gave them a reference point, a moment in time they can look back on and say: that’s what I actually looked like. Not what my inner critic tells me I look like.
That’s not a small thing.

One of our clients Rhennay, was kind enough to fill out a questionnaire about her experience after her session with us. We’re sharing it here with her permission, completely unedited.
She came in wanting to feel better about herself. Here’s what she said afterwards.
What motivated you to do a boudoir session?
“Wanting to feel better about myself, see myself in a different light.” -R

Were you nervous or excited before the shoot?
“I was a mix of both nervous and excited!” -R

How did you feel working with Sabrina and Jake?
“I felt so comfortable, it was a nice, easy going atmosphere and I felt very taken care of as well. They are both great people and really know how to make you feel comfortable, and feel good about yourself.” -R

What did you love most about the session?
“I loved everything, the whole experience is something I feel like more people should do! It gives you a newfound confidence.” -R

Was there anything you didn’t like about the session?
“Not at all!” -R

How did you feel immediately after the shoot ended?
“I honestly was sad as it was such a fun experience! But I also felt confident in myself, and just feel like I was beaming.” -R

Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
“I love them. I never thought I’d love photos of myself but here I am. Saying I love them, at first, I was purely in shock and couldn’t help but laugh, not at myself but just the feeling of pure joy seeing myself in a different way.” -R

Did you find the whole experience worth it in the end? Why or why not?
“I found it worth it 100%, I am coming out of this experience with a confidence and love for myself I didn’t really think I’d have.” -R

What would you say to someone on the fence?
“I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. It is something you actually need to just go and do at least 1 time in your life, especially if you have trouble loving yourself like I do.” -R

Is there anything else you’d like to add?
“I’m just really thankful for both Sabrina and Jake, thank you guys ❤️” -R

“I never thought I’d love photos of myself.” That line stays with us every time we read it, because it’s what so many women feel walking in, and what so many of them no longer feel walking out.
Rhennay didn’t come in confident. She came in nervous and hoping. And she left beaming, in her own words.
That’s not a coincidence or a lucky outcome. It’s the result of a session built around emotional safety, genuine care, and a photographer who knows how to guide women through something that asks a lot of them.
We can’t promise every session will feel identical to Rhennay’s. But we can tell you that we approach every single one with the same intention, and that the women who leave most surprised are almost always the ones who arrived most unsure.
You might be in exactly the right place for this if:
You’re going through a period of feeling disconnected from yourself, after a relationship, a pregnancy, a difficult stretch, or just years of putting yourself last.
You’ve been thinking about doing this for a while but keep finding reasons to wait until you’re ‘ready.’ (You won’t feel ready. Most people don’t. That’s not a reason to wait.)
You’re not doing this for anyone else. You want something that’s genuinely for you.
And if you’re still not sure, that’s fine too. Rhennay described herself as someone who has trouble loving herself. She wasn’t certain it would work. She did it anyway. And she came out the other side with something she didn’t expect.
