Boudoir Photographer Melbourne: Why Women Are Making the Drive to Geelong

If you’ve been searching for a boudoir photographer in Melbourne and clicking away from everything you find, too corporate, too high-pressure, pricing you can’t work out without a phone call, you’re in the right place.

Apricot Aura is a private boudoir studio in central Geelong, about an hour from Melbourne’s CBD. A significant portion of our clients make that drive. This page covers what you’d be getting, why women choose us over studios in the city, and what the whole experience actually looks like.

You might have found us through our Instagram @melbourneboudoir, if so, that’s us. The account links here.

Why Melbourne Women Book With Us

The thing we hear most often from Melbourne clients isn’t that they couldn’t find studios closer to home. It’s that the ones they found didn’t feel right.

Too polished. Too transactional. Couldn’t tell who they’d actually be dealing with.

At Apricot Aura, Sabrina shoots every session and Jake handles everything else, your enquiry call, your pre-session prep, your reveal appointment. The same two people, start to finish. No booking systems that hand you off to someone you’ve never spoken to.

That sounds like a small thing until you’re standing in a private studio in your underwear. Then it matters quite a lot.

What Your Session Includes

• Professional makeup, done at the studio before your shoot, included in your session fee

• Two hours of shooting with Sabrina across eight purpose-built sets

• Three to five outfit changes, bring your own, use our wardrobe, or both

• Full posing direction for every single shot, you don’t need to know how to pose

• Snacks and drinks throughout

• A private reveal session with Jake, 2–3 weeks after your shoot, where you see your images for the first time and choose what you’d like to take home

Session fee is $599. Products are chosen at your reveal, nothing is decided on shoot day, and you don’t spend anything beyond $599 until you’ve seen your images. [Pricing detail: /boudoir-photography-prices-melbourne/]

The Drive From Melbourne

Geelong is about an hour from Melbourne’s CBD, closer from the inner south and west, a bit longer from the north and east. Most clients build it into a half-day or a full day out.

A few things Melbourne clients consistently tell us: the drive helped. Being somewhere unfamiliar, removed from the routine of their regular week, made it easier to actually show up present rather than distracted. Some extend the day along the Surf Coast on the way home.

It’s a real consideration and we’re not going to pretend it isn’t. But if you’re weighing it up, the consistent response from women who make the trip is that they were glad they did. [Is the trip worth it: /is-it-worth-travelling-from-melbourne-for-boudoir/]
