Boudoir Photo Studio

Boudoir Photographer Melbourne | Apricot Aura

If you’ve been searching for a boudoir photographer in Melbourne, you’ve probably already noticed something: there are options, but most of them feel either clinical and overproduced, or low-budget and a bit questionable.

You want something in the middle, high quality, genuinely empathetic, with a photographer who makes the whole thing feel less terrifying and more like something you’ll actually be glad you did.

We’re not in Melbourne. We’re in Geelong, about an hour from the CBD, and a lot of Melbourne women are making the drive. Here’s why, and what you’d actually be getting.

Why Melbourne Women Book With Us

We hear a few versions of the same thing fairly regularly:

“I found studios in Melbourne but they felt too corporate.”

“The pricing was all over the place and I couldn’t tell what I was actually paying for.”

“I didn’t feel like they’d actually look after me.”

What Apricot Aura offers that’s harder to find in a big city is a genuinely private, owner-operated studio where the same two people, Jake and Sabrina, handle everything from your first message through to your reveal appointment. There’s no booking manager passing you off to a photographer you’ve never spoken to. You know exactly who you’re dealing with from day one.

That matters more than most people expect it to.

What You’re Getting

• Professional makeup – done at the studio before your shoot starts, included in your session fee

• Two hours of shooting time – enough to relax, try different things, and not feel rushed

• Access to all four studio sets – each one with a different mood and aesthetic

• 3–5 outfit changes – bring your own, use our wardrobe, or both

• Full posing direction – Sabrina guides every shot

• Snacks and drinks throughout

• A private reveal session – 2–3 weeks later, where you see your images for the first time

Session fee is $599. Products are chosen at the reveal. [Full pricing: /boudoir-session-cost-geelong]

The Drive

Geelong is roughly an hour from Melbourne’s CBD. Most Melbourne clients treat it as a day out, drive down, have their session, grab lunch or coffee after, and head home via the Great Ocean Road or the Surf Coast if they feel like it.

A few have told us the drive actually helped. It created a bit of distance between the session and their everyday life, they were somewhere different, which made it easier to show up differently.

That said, we know it’s a real consideration. If the drive is a dealbreaker, it’s a dealbreaker and that’s fine. But if you’re on the fence, it’s worth knowing that most women who come from Melbourne are glad they did.

“But I’ve Never Done Anything Like This”

That’s the most common thing we hear, and it’s almost never a problem.

The session is built around the assumption that most clients are nervous, don’t know how to pose, and have complicated feelings about their body. Sabrina has been doing this long enough that she’s not surprised by any of it, and Jake runs the whole client experience with a level of warmth that makes most people feel settled pretty quickly.

Who Books With Us From Melbourne

Mostly women in their late 20s to early 40s, though we work with a wide range. A good proportion are engaged women booking a boudoir session as a gift for their partner. [How that works: /boudoir-album-wedding-gift]. Others are booking purely for themselves, a decision that’s been on a mental shelf for a year or two and finally gets made.

All body types, all confidence levels. The session doesn’t require you to arrive feeling ready.

Is It Safe to Have a Boudoir Session?

[Full answer: /is-boudoir-photography-safe] – key points: the studio is private and owner-operated, you control what you do and don’t do, and your images belong to you, we don’t use them for anything without your explicit written consent.

Ready to Talk?

You don’t need to be sure. Just curious enough to send a message. Jake will reach out, answer your questions, and give you everything you need to make a decision when you’re ready. No pressure, no countdown timers.
