Who We Are

We’re Jake and Sabrina, and we run Apricot Aura from our private studio in the centre of Geelong. Sabrina shoots. Jake handles everything else, from your first enquiry through to your reveal session, and together we’ve built something that feels a lot more like a really good day out than a formal photoshoot.

We didn’t set out to create a “boudoir brand.” We set out to create an experience where women feel genuinely comfortable, genuinely seen, and genuinely surprised by what they look like in photos. Everything else – the studio, the process, the products, has been built around that.

Our Studio – Built just for Boudoir Photography in Geelong

We’re based in central Geelong, in a private, dedicated studio that we own and operate. This isn’t a hired space or a shared creative studio. It’s ours, it’s set up specifically for boudoir sessions, and it stays that way.

Inside, we have four shooting rooms, each with a different look and feel, so whether you’re drawn to something moody and dramatic or light and soft, there’s a set that suits you. You can move between all of them throughout your session.

The studio is completely private. You’ll never cross paths with another client. The only people in the building during your session are you, Sabrina, and, if you’d like, a support person you bring along.

What Actually Happens at Your Session

Professional hair & makeup is included.

You arrive, get your hair and makeup done, and have a chance to settle in and get comfortable before we even pick up a camera. This isn’t rushed.

You get two hours of shooting time.

That’s enough time to go through three to five different looks, move between sets, try things, change direction, and actually relax into it. Most women tell us they stop overthinking it somewhere around the 30-minute mark.

You don’t need to know how to pose.

Sabrina directs every single shot. You’ll get clear guidance on exactly where to put your hands, how to angle your body, where to look, everything. Your only job is to show up.

Snacks and drinks throughout.

Small thing, but it matters. You’re there for a few hours. You should feel comfortable, not like you’re performing on an empty stomach.

A reveal session follows 2–3 weeks later.

This is where you see your images for the first time. It’s a private appointment, and it’s genuinely one of the best parts of the whole experience. Any products, albums, prints, digital images, are chosen at the reveal session. Nothing is decided under pressure on shoot day.

Who Books With Us

We work with women from across Geelong, the Surf Coast, and Melbourne. Our clients are mostly in their late 20s to early 40s, though we’ve worked with women younger and older. The Distance Question (For Melbourne Clients)

We get a lot of enquiries from Melbourne, and yes, it’s a drive. Geelong is about an hour from the CBD. Melbourne clients always tell us the drive was worth it, and a handful make a day of it, stopping somewhere on the Surf Coast on the way home.
